Where I've worked

  1. Dec 2023 – PresentHyderabad

    Senior Software Engineer

    Qualcomm
    • Develop APIs in Qualcomm's Android camera HAL, covering the camera and its features.
    • Built agentic workflows for the initial software development of a chip, raising efficiency by 20% and shortening development time.
    • Built an agentic AI system on the Qgenie LLM that handles first-pass debugging of gaming use cases, so others ramp up on game cases faster and get optimization insights.
    • Analyze and optimize power and performance of mobile games on mobile chipsets, including CPU and GPU optimizations.

  2. Jan 2022 – Jul 2023Hyderabad

    Software Engineer

    Qualcomm
    • Analyzed CPU use and optimized power for AR glass use cases. Cut CPU power by 80% by offloading end-to-end tasks that use 6DOF, tracking cameras and LSR to other IPs. The result drew in customers.
    • Cut WLAN chip power by 50% with software, firmware and protocol tweaks (TCP, UDP, ToS, NAL, HEVC) without missing KPIs. Debugged traffic patterns in Wireshark.
    • Cut tracking camera power by 65% and proposed new algorithms for better RGB image quality.

    Quality Engineer

    Manhattan Associates
    • Designed the data loader feature for placing orders in the vendor component, in Spring Boot.
    • Wrote UI automation in Protractor and added multi-container Docker support, cutting test execution time by 60%.
    • Supported developer and test environments on GCP with Kubernetes, including scaling components and tagging environments.
    • Automated APIs with RestAssured, TestNG and Cucumber, and built cross-component token generation for end-to-end tests.
    • Received the Team Award for contributions to API and UI automation.

Tea leaf quality classifier

Built a Flutter app that grades tea leaf quality for Sri Lankan plantations. With other collaborators, I developed a model that detects leaves in an image and then classifies each one, deployed on Azure ML Studio.

English to Arabic data science translation

Wrote a script that collects English and Arabic YouTube transcripts into a parallel corpus, used to fine-tune a Helsinki-NLP model. A Python post-process step finds untranslated acronyms and appends their Arabic translation.
